  1. Notes from Master Chen PM Workshop
Sat. June 8- Sun June 9/2019
    • create 3 points; stretch away from midpoint equally
    • make all stretches/elongations more expansive; take/make space
    • you can’t feel anything when you do it correctly; OMG !!!
    • move away from midpoint of line equally; proportionately
    • find/create line, then expand the line
    • less is more; less tension, more elongation
    • move straight, open, elongate, leg moves in straight lines
    • have to move in both directions, to take space, evenly; forward & back
    • Be consistent; train everyday, no matter what…
    • take notes, study the art…
    • empty/solid; empty/double weighted-solid/two directional stretch
    • proportionality; same, matched energy going in at least two directions simultaneously
    • make some body parts into inanimate ‘sticks’
    • expand immediately upon contact, along the ‘line’, in at least 2 directions/dimensions, match forward/backward expansion exactly
    • majority of body should become like inanimate matter, no life beyond the Intention
    • always; in with elbow (no hand), Out with Hand (no elbow), rinse and repeat
    • understanding means being able to do something, not just concept, but execution
    • making the effort to understand is never a wasted effort
    • listen to instruction, watch the demonstration, feel the master’s body as it executes, feel the execution’s effects on your body, try to forget anything else but just replicate those things as best you can, slightly better each time you practice
    • real learning happens when you are physically/mentally tired, you stop using the logic brain and just experience doing the movement without extraneous body movement
    • 3 rules to becoming good at taiji; consistency, consistency, consistency…
    • create a plan/formula/procedure then follow that process, consistently
    • create the possibility for training breakthrough’s to occur by keeping to your process, daily practice over the long run 10 – 15 yrs plus will contribute to becoming a Taiji brother
…learning to live a breath at a time; breathing now…
