In last Tuesday’s workshop, Master Chen gave us a drill: loosely swing an arm around a few times and then pick a point in space in front. Make a fist and stop, with only the fist tight, every thing else relaxed (as no two adjacent body parts are ever tensed). We were to do this 60 times a day. Later, we did the first 13 with the feeling of that movement several times.
At last Sunday’s training in Irvine, we practiced this. Winston came up with a good way of doing the first 13 where each move was done regularly/slowly, and done again faster as in the workshop – both w/ extension.
